In celebration of the fact that the company hosting this site has quietly increased both my disk space and bandwidth, I’m going to post up some more mp3′s.
Today’s mp3 is the opening part of the Openland album (rather than the soundtrack). It’s over 10 minutes long and very quiet in places so I’ve encoded it as a VBR file.

Now, I’m never satisfied by anything I do but I’m almost pleased with the way the Openland album has turned out. I’ve tried to make emotive and varied music without obviously using strong melodies to do it. The result is almost succesful. Hopefully.
I’m working on an Openland live set at the moment. I bought another little midi controller recently (Korg Nano Kontrol) to work alongside my knobby Evolution controller and I’m developing a set which allows me to fully explore the possibilities of the tracks created for the film. The main problem will probably come when I have to concentrate it all into a palatable 45min-60min set. I keep finding interesting dynamic changes and processes when practising and suddenly find I’ve only used a few parts of a couple of tracks in an hour of playing. At least it’ll vary wildly each time I perform it.

I definitely approve. I like how you labeled the genre, “light dinner jazz.” Hehe. As usual, good stuff!
