I’m not so keen on winter days where you don’t see the sun and dusk seems to begin at lunch time. Grey is a great thing when it’s an area between two extremes but it’s very dull on a late November day.
It’s definitely the lack of light that I dislike rather than the cold in winter. Chilly days are refreshing and the winter sun in the UK is wonderful.
I listened through a load of music to select something appropriate to offer up. A happy track felt wrong, a rhythm track too upbeat. So, you’re going to get ‘Less Again’, a melodic bit of noise which could almost be described as a drone in places, if you were being a little generous with your descriptions.

‘Less Again’ is one of a series of unreleased tracks (ooh, there’s a surprise) which are reworked versions of other pieces, often acoustic music. The idea was to create a very different tune from the original, abstracted and processed until only a ghost of the first version remains. Messing around with acoustic sound is something of a fine balance. Do you process the material until nothing remains of the source or is there a balance to be found where a trace of guitar pluck or piano hammer can be deciphered?
