I can be pretty useless at keeping this site updated regularly. Sorry about that. I’ve never been the best at self-promotion… Actually, my day to day communications to friends and family are pretty limited as well. I tend to spend 99% of my working day in the studio composing music so other, often important, stuff gets pushed to the sidelines. It’s a bit silly.
Anyway, enough of my pathetic excuses, here’s a bit of news about some projects which I am involved in at the moment.
Robots with Hearts
This has been brewing over the course of last year and is a collaboration with the very talented vocalist Mike ‘Icon the Mic King’ King. The result is robot sci-fi, crumpet nibbling, electronic hip-hop with a wonderfully creative lyrical flow from Mr King. I’m rather excited about it all.
Some of the tracks are still to be finished and we have yet to find a home for the project but I’m very hopeful that we will be seeing some ‘robots with hearts’ releases coming up in 2008.
Check out a couple of tracks over at our myspace page : http://www.myspace.com/robohearts
‘Openland’ soundtrack
I am composing a soundtrack for a video art/film project called ‘Openland’. The film is being made by Patrick Doan under his Defasten name. I’ve seen a preview/trailer of the film and it’s looking really nice. Strong ideas with some very inspiring colours, textures and subjects for me to compose to. The results of the collaboration will be released from c0c0s0l1dc1t1 in a combined package of a dvd along with an audio cd. the audio cd will be an ‘andrew coleman’ album containing tracks inspired and developed from or for the soundtrack. It wont just be a straight copy of the tracks on the soundtrack but an entity in itself.
Wax Works
“Wax Works is a fresh belgian label for dj-friendly electonica records. A selection of artists from different backgrounds collaborate and remix each other. Not bound to any style, but focussing on the fusion of different genres. The records are strictly limited, there will be no represses and the tracks are exclusively available on vinyl” - from the Wax Works press release
I’m one of the artist included in this exciting new project/label. It’s a fun idea where all the artists involved upload track parts to a collective ftp site and then download other artists samples to use in the creation of new tracks. I’ve no idea how it will turn out but I am sure that some really good music will be produced. The artists participating in the label so far are as follows:

www.myspace.com/einoma
www.myspace.com/animalsonwheels
www.myspace.com/kadahvresky
www.myspace.com/subjex

So, lots good things to come in 2008. And then there’s the Animals on Wheels album to finish… One day soon…
